WESTERN FIBER STABILIZED CELLULOSE INSULATION

The addition of an acrylic binder to cellulose has resulted in a sprayed-in insulation product with superior performance and many environmental and health benefits over conventional insulation. Its price per square foot and cubic foot is increasingly competative with other alternative insulation materials and techniques.

Environmental Impact
  • Cellulose can be manufactured locally, using 100% recycled cardboard and 10 to 50 times LESS energy than other insulations.
  • No hazardous chemicals are used or produced in the manufacturing process.
  • Insulation can be recycled at the end of a building's life.

Health
  • Completely non-carcinogenic and non-toxic, containing no formaldehyde, no asbestos, no fiberglass, no mineral wool, and no ammonium sulfate.
  • Added borate fire retardant naturally repels insects, while being completely safe for humans. Borate is also a recognized mold inhibitor.

Safety
  • Has a 2-hour fire rating and has been approved as a fire stop.
  • No toxic chemicals are released in the event of a fire, greatly reducing health risks or smoke damage.

Performance
  • Increased thermal performance provides greater heating and cooling retention, with a significant reduction in energy costs, compared with conventional methods.
  • Reduces uncontrolled air infiltration and convection up to 50% better than conventional insulations.
  • Sprayed cellulose encapsulates all wiring and plumbing which prevents insulation voids and eliminates condensation.
  • Should moisture be introduced, the natural capillary action of cellulose absorbs and releases it, holding it in suspension until natural drying can occur.
  • Superior sound absorbing qualities of the long, hollow, interlocking cellulose fibers virtually eliminate exterior noise, plumbing noise and interior echoing.
